Frank T. Verity (1864 – 1937)
Watercolour on paper
Architectural drawing showing the Lord’s Pavilion extension, which includes the bowlers bar on the raised ground floor level and administrative offices on the first floor level.
Designed and drawn by British architect Frank Verity, son of Thomas Verity, who established a leading London architectural practice in 1871 famed for its Second Empire-style architecture. The firm won a
competition to design The Criterion theatre and restaurant complex in Piccadilly Circus, which emulates
this style. Thomas designed the Pavilion and Frank continued to add to it after his father’s death (Bowlers’
extension and new balconies)
