Description
Bronze figure of a bowler depicted following through. Mounted on a green marble oval pedestal and square base. Incised lines around top and base of pedestal, in gold. Inscribed in gold on pedestal: A. V. Bedser/ Surrey and England Bowler. Signed by artist on top of base.
Display caption
Wynne’s sculpture shows Bedser’s textbook follow-through at his peak. In the summer
of 1953 Bedser helped England win back the Ashes after 19 years, taking 39 wickets in
the series.
