1 33 RPM Record, The Lord's Taverners at the Mansion House on Tuesday, July 6th 1971. The record was produced and edited by Bill Crozier and consists of speeches made at the twenty-first anniversary dinner for the Lord's Taverners at Mansion House, London. The sleeve contains a brief history of the Lord's Taverners, photographs of the speakers on the front and reverse (Martin Boddey, Sir Peter Studd, Harry Secombe, Frank Crozier, Lord Mancroft and Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh), and a report on the evening by E W Swanton. Side 1: [0:00-7:50] Martin Boddey, Founder and President of the Lord's Taverners, makes a speech praising Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh's support to the Lord's Taverners, and proposes a toast to the Lord Mayor, Corporation of London and the Sheriffs, [7:50-10:55] The Lord Mayor of London (Sir Peter Studd) makes a speech about his experiences of practicing with Wilfred Rhodes, [10:55-19:05] Harry Secombe, comedian, gives a comic performance and proposes a toast to the guests of the dinner, [19:05-32:09] Frank Crozier of the BBC replies to Secombe's toast, and gives a comic performance about cricket in Roman times. Side 2: [0:00-11:00] Lord Mancroft makes a speech praising HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and the work of the Lord's Taverners and gives a comic performance about his experiences of playing cricket, and proposes a toast to Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh, [11:00-25:54] Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh makes a speech responding to Lord Mancroft's toast, talks about his experiences of visiting Canada, his appearances at Lord's Taverners' events, praises the work of the Lord's Taverners, and announces the release of the book 'The Twelfth Man: A Book of Original Contributions Brought Together by The Lord's Taverners in Honour of their Patron H.R.H.
