Curator's correspondence (Diana Rait Kerr) with John Masefield, former Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom. Subjects include enquiries by Masefield as to whether the Australian Aborigines who played in England in 1868 gave a display of throwing boomerangs and weet-weets during their matches, extract on weet-weets from 'The Aborigines of Victoria' by R Brough Smyth, enquiries about the England batting order for the match vs. Australia at The Oval in 1882 for a poem written by Masefield about the match (later entitled 'Eightyfive to win' and included in Masefield's book 'The Bluebells and Other Verse'), enquiries by Masefield regarding the change in number of balls per over in 1889. The file includes enquiries by A B O Parish regarding Len Hutton's career.
