He is wearing a white shirt and MCC touring blazer with St. George and dragon crest on breast pocket and two-striped trim. Biography on reverse reads: "George Oswald Browning Allen, Middlesex. - Known as "Gubby." Fast bowler and hard-hitting batsman. Born Sydney, Australia, July 31, 1902. Took all 10 Lancs. wickets for 40, 1929. Has played v. Australia, New Zealand and captained England v. India this summer." Postcard is unused.
