Promising batsman. Did better in the 1921 Championship Matches than in 1922, with 533 runs to his credit in the former year, and third place in the batting averages; highest score was 154 not out v. Essex. In 1922 he scored 327 runs, with an average of 11.67, his best total being 82 against Worcestershire played on the home ground in July."
