Biography on reverse reads: "D.E. Malcom. Jamaican-born Devon Malcom came to England at age 16 to join his father in Sheffield in 1979. He joined Derbyshire in 1984 after some impressive fast bowling with Richmond College, Sheffield United and the Yorkshire League representative side. He had raw pace and with expert coaching from Phil Russell he was soon regarded as one of the most hostile fast bowlers on the county circuit. He took 56 wickets in 1988 and won his first Test cap against Australia in 1989 when he realised the harsh reality of Test cricket as he toiled for 44 overs and one wicket for 166 runs. But in the last of his 25 Tests to date, in which he has taken 83 wickets, he helped England to salvage some pride with victory over Australia at The Oval in 1993. He has toured with England to West Indies (twice), Australia and India and could well spearhead England's attack for some years to come."
